    Scecina’s Andrew Smith has been named the 2017 Indiana History Teacher of the Year, an award presented annually by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to K-12 American history education.

    John Hegarty is the principal of Scecina Memorial High School. For the next school year, he will move on to a new position at Scecina, Vice President of Community Initiatives.  This is his final Commencement address as principal, given to the Class of 2017 on May 26, 2017.

  • Internet-based labs boost Scecina students’ computer skills

    Scecina students are getting hands-on Microsoft Office 2016 experience with an entirely online teaching program new to the school this year called LabSim by TestOut. LabSim includes: “Tell Me” video instruction; “Show Me” demonstrations; “Read Me” text summaries; “Let Me Try” simulations; “Test Me” quizzes and exams, and progress reports and assessment tools.TestOut touts this teaching method as “the lessons only experience can teach.”
