  • Crusaders softball team captures ICC, City titles

    The Scecina Crusaders softball team captured both the Indiana Crossroads Conference title and the City Championship this past week.

    The Crusaders won the City Championship with a 14-4, five-inning win over the Irish at Cathedral.

  • Senior works side by side with Crusaders athletic trainer

    Senior Jackie Hurst, who wants to be a doctor, jumped at the opportunity to assist Scecina athletic trainer Kylee Ort in wrapping and taping injured body parts and observing her work with Crusaders athletes.

     The experience, Jackie says, is “awesome.”

  • Students dive into Crusaders swimming program

    Being a competitive swimmer at a school without a pool is like being a fish out of water. When it comes to practice, Scecina’s swimmers spend the season living by the Scecina motto of “giving that little extra,” and following in the footsteps of school namesake Father Tom to go above and beyond. The swimmers have to commit to dry-land training and driving to off-site practices in order to dedicate themselves to a sport they love.

    Sophomore Michaela Lindsey, who began swimming at the age of 6, especially has excelled. She finished fifth overall in the 100-meter freestyle event at the All-City Swim Meet. She also broke two longstanding school records.... Read More
