  • Students dive into Crusaders swimming program

    Being a competitive swimmer at a school without a pool is like being a fish out of water. When it comes to practice, Scecina’s swimmers spend the season living by the Scecina motto of “giving that little extra,” and following in the footsteps of school namesake Father Tom to go above and beyond. The swimmers have to commit to dry-land training and driving to off-site practices in order to dedicate themselves to a sport they love.

    Sophomore Michaela Lindsey, who began swimming at the age of 6, especially has excelled. She finished fifth overall in the 100-meter freestyle event at the All-City Swim Meet. She also broke two longstanding school records.... Read More

  • Wrestling takes Scecina junior to new heights

    The “blast double” is one of the most physically dominating takedowns in wrestling, and it’s the favorite move of Scecina wrestler Leonard Love. The wrestler pressures into his opponent, who pressures back. At that point, the wrestler drops down and squeezes opponent’s legs to bring him down.

  • A net gain for Crusaders volleyball captains

    Mary O’Connor and Grace Wright, senior co-captains of the Crusaders volleyball team, played in the Don Shondell All-Star Volleyball Tournament at Munciana Volleyball Club in Yorktown, Indiana, last month.
