Abigail Crump '15 receives several sports honors

Scecina's Abigail Crump, Class of 2015, who will play volleyball at Hanover College, has received several athletic honors during her senior year.

Crump is a nominee for the Catch The Stars Scholar Athlete award. This program is administered by the Catch The Stars Foundation of the Indiana Fever's WNBA MVP Tamika Catchings. It recognizes and honors Indianapolis area students who excel in academics, make a difference in the community and participate in athletics. Both a male and female scholar athlete will be awarded $2,500 scholarships based on their essays and applications. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist scholar athletes with their higher education goals. Click here to watch Abby's YouTube ad for the program. The winners will be announced at a dinner on May 28.

Also, Covenant Christian High School Athletic Department chose Abby for its Volleyball Sportsmanship Award and the Marion County Coaches of Girls Sports Association recognized Abby as an Outstanding Senior Athlete. Congratulations, Abby, and good luck at Hanover!

WOW! Those Crump girls have really made an impact in the Scecina name. It is wonderful Abby received all of these awards. She has worked hard these last four years and it is great to see that people outside of the Scecina family noticed her efforts.
