• Pizza, power and speed: Speakers share their business stories with Scecina students

    Bob and Laura Stark took a chance on a pizza parlor. Rick Smith ’69 passed up a big promotion to further his education and become president of a large power company. Mike Spitzer ’60 turned his love of racing and tinkering with cars into a booming business in building custom automobiles.

  • Scecina freshmen visit Purdue Youth Institute, dig into challenge of feeding the world's hungry people

    Many of us think about food a lot. We might think about food dozens of times a day. That’s 7 billion people thinking about food.

    Sadly, 40% of all food goes to waste. Most hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished.

  • 5 students earn week-long STEM experience at Indiana University

    Five Scecina students will spend a week in July living in a dorm at Indiana University in Bloomington and attending biology classes, while also having some campus fun. 

    They have been accepted into the Jim Holland Summer Enrichment Program at IU. This is an opportunity for high-achieving, underrepresented high school students “to broaden their horizons in genetics, evolution, environmental biology, molecular biology, plant sciences, and more,” according to the IU website. ...
