  • A net gain for Crusaders volleyball captains

    Mary O’Connor and Grace Wright, senior co-captains of the Crusaders volleyball team, played in the Don Shondell All-Star Volleyball Tournament at Munciana Volleyball Club in Yorktown, Indiana, last month.

  • Crusaders football team celebrates team, individual successes

    Entering the 2016 season as the reigning Sectional champions, the Scecina football team was looking to add to its winning tradition. The Crusaders fought their way to a 7-2 regular season record and claimed the Indiana Crossroads Conference Championship.

  • Scecina cheerleaders go live on local television

    Early in the school year I was approached by Petar Hood from WISH-TV (Channel 8) about featuring Scecina’s cheerleaders on “The Zone,”a program that airs every Friday morning during football season. “The Zone” brings Central Indiana extensive of the games in the area. As part of this coverage, WISH-TV features cheerleaders from different schools each week. 

    While all of the girls were excited for this opportunity, sophomore Melanie Capshaw was particularly enthusiastic. 'I've never been to a news station before," she said. "I'm excited to see how it all works."
