Academic Super Bowl

A high school competition comprised of five subjects (English, Science, Social Studies, Math, and Fine Arts) and an Interdisciplinary Studies round. Questions are based on a common theme.

Archery

The National Archery in the Schools program teaches students to shoot bows and arrows. The club sport aspect will consist of competitions against other schools as teams and individuals. The season runs typically from October through March and can continue through June, depending on how far students advance in the competition.

Book Club and Creative Writing Club

The book club is an opportunity to read and discuss various written works and books. The creative writing club allows students to gather with peers to explore, discuss, read, and produce writing. Members participate in writing activities and exercises, offer tips and information about the writing process, and share their work voluntarily for constructive feedback.

Black History Month Committee

The Black History Club at Scecina Memorial High School is a club that promotes cultural awareness by planning activities that celebrate “Black History Month” during the month of February. This club also helps students develop initiative and leadership and focuses on serving the school, student body, and community.

Chess Club

The chess club is a social, informational, instructional, or competitive meeting place where people come together through chess. A club can offer a wide variety of activities, including instruction, rated games, simuls, lectures, and recreational play. Every member is important to the success of the club, and the chess club cannot exist without active participation from both the organizers and players.

Crusaders for Life (Right to Life)

This club is designed to introduce, engage, and educate students about the issues that involve the sanctity of life, ranging from natural conception to natural death. We aim to discuss these meaningful things and act on our beliefs and convictions by serving at a pro-life agency in the archdiocese once a month. All discussions and teachings will occur in the harbor of the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Debate Club

Students learn to create logical, ethical, and emotional arguments on various topics to persuade others in the club that their “side” is correct.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization that fosters scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Students are involved in a variety of projects throughout the year. Students must have a cumulative weighted grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and a satisfactory application.

Pep Band

The Crusader pep band primarily plays at pep rallies and athletic events and is a way to pump up our fans and create school spirit.

The prom committee is responsible for the planning that goes into hosting the prom. They are in charge of prom details, including the theme, name, decor, and much more.

Rho Kappa is the only nationally recognized organization for students who excel in Social Studies. Rho Kappa promotes and encourages an understanding and interest in social studies through local, state, and national engagement.

Rock Band provides an alternative place for musicians not commonly found in band or choir. Rock Band is an active touring band, playing 15+ gigs a year.

The Crusader Student Ambassadors is a club for students with high academic and social standards and wishes to promote Scecina Memorial to the community.

Student Council

Student Council is a way to share ideas, interests, and concerns with fellow students and administration. We raise funds for school projects and to assist the community. Students learn to become responsible and active members of their community. Students fill out applications in August, and the moderators conduct student interviews to fill Student Council positions.

Theater (Fall Play and Spring Musical)

The Scecina community is rich in cultural opportunities, offering our students various options to engage, volunteer, and perform. Students participating in the fall play and spring musicals learn everything from performance to stage direction, lighting, set displays, and more.
