  • Scecina softball coach Cory Gray honored by IndyStar as Coach of the Year

    Cory Gray suffered a stroke in the summer of 2016 and went through months of struggle and rehab to get back to the softball field. He returned to coach the Crusaders softball team to the Class 2A state title in June 2017.

  • Crusaders are the state champions

    The Crusaders were up just one run, 3-2, as the seventh and final inning of the 2017 State Championship softball game began. They hadn’t scored since the third inning when they put up three runs.   • Coach Gray: 'Thanks for all the support'

    Cory Gray has coached the Scecina Crusaders softball team since 2013, winning a state championship in his first year. Last summer he suffered a stroke and spent months in rehab. His story was the subject of news stories leading up to the 2017 IHSAA State Championship softball game on June 10. The Crusaders won the championship, beating Elwood 6-2.
