Cross Country Recap

The Scecina Memorial Cross Country team’s season came to an end last Saturday with Freshman Natalie Donlan (Holy Spirit) running a personal course record at the IHSAA Carmel Semi-State Meet. Her season personal record (P.R.) of 21:05 moved her up to #3 on the Scecina All-Time list. Donlan was the first Lady Crusader to earn a Semi-State appearance since current coach Jenny Braun McNulty '04 (St. Simon) did it in 2003.

Freshman Jacqueline Kennedy (Our Lady of Lourdes) also enjoyed a spectacular season, setting the Cross Country school record with a time of 20:56 earlier in the season. Kennedy was just one place away from qualifying for the Semi-State Championships.

Both Donlan and Kennedy earned spots on the All-Conference team. Junior Caroline Sausser (Our Lady of Lourdes) joined Donlan and Kennedy in qualifying for the IHSAA Rushville Regional Championships, which marks the first time in school history that multiple individuals qualified for the IHSAA Regional.

Other highlights for the Ladies’ team  included a Scecina Memorial Invitational win, a 4th place finish at the City Championships, an Indiana Conference runner up finish, and a 7th place finish at the New Palestine Sectional.

The Boys’ Cross Country team had a strong season, highlighted by a win at the Scecina Memorial Invitational, 6th place finish at the City Championships, 4th place finish at the Indiana Crossroads Conference Championships and an 8th place finish at the Sectional.

Junior Mitchell Donlan (Holy Spirit) was the teams #1 runner in all but one race and his season P.R. of 17:49 was good enough for 8th on the Scecina Memorial Cross Country All-Time list. Freshman Jacob Lenne (Holy Spirit) ran a season best of 18:04, which earned him the #10 place on the Scecina Memorial Cross Country All-Time list. Lenne was the lone Crusader boy to advance from the IHSAA New Palestine Sectional to the IHSAA Rushville Regional Championships, marking the second consecutive year that an individual boy has advanced through the Sectional.

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it
or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the
message home a bit, but other than that, this is great
blog. A fantastic read. I'll definitely be back.
