Crusaders Notch First Conference Win in Shutout
Scecina Football opened Indiana Crossroads Conference play in impressive fashion. The Crusaders used a 28-point first half to set up a 35-0 shutout of the 2A #6 Speedway Sparkplugs on a hot, humid night.
Scecina moved up to Class 2A in football this year on account of their success in the 1A tournament the previous two years. So far the team seems up to the challenge, as it now stands 2-0 for the season--with both wins versus 2A teams.
This week the Crusaders will host Park Tudor at Howe Academy in another conference match-up. East Deanery football players and cheerleaders are specially invited to attend as part of Scecina's CYO night. Grade school students will receive free admittance, a Scecina t-shirt, and a free game day meal. All teams will be called onto the field at halftime and announced in front of the home crowd.
