February Crusaders of the Month

Each month students are acknowledged for displaying one or more of the values of Scecina Memorial High School, vocation, servant leadership, stewardship, and excellence. These students are nominated by teachers and staff as the Crusaders of the Month. The February Crusaders of the Month are:

Yatzary Soriano-Flores
Nomination: Science Department
Values Displayed: Excellence
Yatzary demonstrates the value of excellence. She tries to do her very best in class. She makes the effort to come in if she has questions and is conscientious about always getting her work in on time and doing it well. I know she puts forth the extra effort because English is not her first language. She lives the gospel by her kindness and the respect she shows to others.

Kimberly Guerro-Torres
Nomination: Health and Physical Education
Values Displayed: Excellence and servant leadership
Comments: Kimberly is an outstanding student and gives her all at everything she does. She is a very caring person, a hard worker who competes every day and never worries her own personal gains but rather the group as a whole

Spencer Douglas
Nomination: English Department
Values Displayed: Vocation
Spencer performed at the Scecina Coffee House last Friday evening with a recitation of an original poem. It was a true example of a student honoring his God-given talents.

Sandhru Fredy
TV/Media Production
Values Displayed:
Vocation and excellence
Sandhru is a new international student this semester, and he has jumped right in to contributing to our student media by producing quality photos and videos.

Delaney Rohlman
Social Studies Department
Values Displayed:
Delaney excels at Social Studies and shows genuine interest in the content. She is often involved in discussions of Current Issues after her allotted classes and drives not only herself but other students as well to succeed in their classes.

Drew Smith
Nomination: Athletics Department
Values Displayed: Vocation and excellence
Comments: This was Drew's first season wrestling at Scecina. He excelled and qualified for the wrestling regionals, a great accomplishment!

Cecilia Linn
Music Department
Values Displayed:
Servant Leadership and excellence
Cecilia always shows up ready to work and works very hard. She is a great asset to our school community.

Ria Rebein
Staff Member
Values Displayed:
Servant Leadership
Ria has been a wonderful example of Servant Leadership this month. She has coordinated two service projects for the Key Club: preparing bags for the homeless in Indianapolis and getting homemade Valentines delivered to a local senior facility. She took it upon herself to schedule other students to help and also to do the work with the students. Ria led by serving. She was present and leading other students in getting these projects completed -- all of this while being on crutches!

appreciate the companions I have made, anyway everything except just a couple of the educators at this school can make learning and advancing through secondary school troublesome and they don't speak with the understudies.

This is very good choosing students from different departments and give them different roles to play crusaders of the month and this will give those students different experience and this type of things happens with this students have to think differently in a different situation and they will learn lots of new thinks.
