Full Speed Ahead | Michael Kennedy '14 Admitted to U.S. Naval Academy

In the last issue of The Crusader, we highlighted the summer activities undertaken by several students and staff. One feature was on Michael Kennedy '14, who spent a week at the U.S. Naval Academy's Summer Seminar.

The experience, he told us, made a great impression on him.

In early October, Michael learned that he had made an equally great impression on the Naval Academy when he received a Letter of Assurance-or an offer of admittance-to the Brigade of Midshipmen. After completing several more admissions requirements, which included a Presidential Nomination by President Barack Obama, Michael was simply left with making the choice to attend.

Recently, with the support of his family, Michael made the decision to join the 168th Class of Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy. He follows his father, John Kennedy (Ret. Navy Capt.); mother, Cris Kennedy (Ret. Navy); and grandfather, Jerry Kennedy (Ret. Army) in choosing to serve our country through the armed forces.

Congratulations, Michael, on your admittance to the United States Naval Academy!
