Graduation Caps 2016

Class of 2019 Graduation Information

Senior Parents,
We are preparing for important events that will provide a rich and fitting culmination to your child's high school years. The information on this page will help ensure a smooth graduation for the Class of 2019.

Senior Family Information: Your student will receive a form called Senior Family Information. Please fill out that form and return to Mrs. Margaret Zeh Fulford.

Receiving gradution information does not ensure your son or daughter will graduate. Please instruct your son or daughter to check with Guidance to make sure he or she meets the criteria to graduate. Additionally, information regarding future plans and scholarships must be submitted to Guidance by May 6 in order to guarantee its includsion in the commencement events.

Seniors also must have their service hours completed in order to receive their diploma on the night of graduation. Please turn in your service hours by April 30 to Director of Campus Ministry Amy Noser.

Parents and families are encouraged to attend as the Class of 2019 will receive recognition for a variety of achievements. Senior Awards is a dress-up day with caps and gowns. After the awards show, we will again show the slideshow for parents and families.

Thursday, May 23 – Finals and Baccalaureate Mass. Seniors will have finals for periods 5 and 6 in the morning. Practice for Baccalaureate Mass will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield, IN 46140. Baccalaureate and practice are both mandatory for all seniors; they must participate in the Mass to participate in Commencement. We must practice to ensure a smooth Baccalaureate Mass; to save time and gas we have made practice directly before the event, therefore students cannot be late to practice. Dinner needs to be after practice, but an hour before receiving the Eucharist, so the timeline requires prompt attendance. Baccalaureate will be a dress-up event with gowns (no caps). Seniors should either be dressed for Mass upon their arrival to practice or should bring their dress clothes with them to change into before Mass begins. The Baccalaureate Mass will be at St. Michael Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. There are no Scecina-sponsored activities after Mass.

Friday, May 24 – Commencement Rehearsal. Seniors will need to report to the gym at 9:00 a.m. to rehearse for the ceremony. This is a mandatory event for participation in Commencement. Please arrive on time. The administration reserves the right to prohibit a senior who arrives late from participating in graduation. This practice will go as long as it takes to ensure a quality graduation.

Friday, May 24 – Commencement for the Class of 2019. Commencement will start at 7:00 p.m. with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. Commencement is a mandatory dress-up event for seniors. Seniors are asked to meet in the cafeteria no later than 6:00 p.m. with their caps and gowns. Each senior will receive two (2) floor seats; all other seating is a first-come, first-serve basis. After graduation, student need to go to the main office to return rental items and pick up all official paperwork.
