DEVELOPMENT STAFF Jim McGuinness Gia Spaulding PROVIDING SUPPORT THROUGH ENDOWMENT GIFTS In establishing an endowment fund, the donor's intent is to make a gift in which the principal is preserved, while the institution receives yearly income based on the success of investment earnings. In the indianapolis Archdiocese, all endowments are deposited with the Archdiocesan Catholic Community Foundation. For Scecina accounts, the Foundation invests the dollars given by our donors, and then distributes a percentage of investment income back to the school. At Scecina, a donor must provide at least $10,000 to initiate an endowment account. These accounts may begin as the result of a donor's bequest in a will, at the request of family or friends who wish to honor the good works of persons who have a special interest in the institution, or when a benefactor wishes to support a particular program at the school such as scholarship support or financial aid. While family and friends often continue to make contributions to help these accounts grow, others in the Scecina community may choose to send designated contributions to be added to the principal of any fund that has already been established. These are the current Scecina Endowment Accounts: We are thankful for families who have already chosen to support Scecina through endowment giving. As a result of their spirit of stewardship, many students are able to benefit from Scecina's Catholic tradition. An endowment fund is a lasting gift that will sustain our mission far into the future. If you would like more information about beginning an endowment, I would be happy to discuss options with you. Sincerely, Jim McGuinness |
