Scecina Veterans Committee

In anticipation of future physical changes in Scecina's main entrance, a group of Scecina veterans have formed a committee to establish a memorial monument in the form of a statue of Father Thomas Scecina.  This memorial will be the focal point for all students and visitors entering the school and will highlight Father Tom's service and dedication as a priest and a soldier for God and country.

The Scecina Veterans Committee is charged with planning a fitting memorial to Father Tom as well as other Scecina "family" members who have answered the call to military service.  Those men or women who have given their lives or were wounded in service to our nation will be honored.  Although still in the conceptual stage, the memorial will also recognize Scecina graduates, teachers, and associated families who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States.

How Can You Help?

The committee will be seeking information identifying soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airmen and women about their military service.  In addition to a statue honoring Father Tom, various Scecina constituencies will be recognized based upon their sacrifice and service.  The committee is dedicated to being as accurate, inclusive, and comprehensive in our data gathering as possible.  We hope that Scecina students will be able to assist us in the research and verification process.

Assistance from the alumni will be greatly appreciated.  The wishes of alumni and family will be respected in all cases.   More information will be forthcoming in the months ahead.
