January Crusaders of the Month

Each month students are acknowledged for displaying one or more of the values of Scecina Memorial High School, vocation, servant leadership, stewardship, and excellence. These students are nominated by teachers and staff as the Crusaders of the Month. The January Crusaders of the Month are:

Will Ferree
Nomination: Math Department
Values Displayed: vocation, servant leadership, stewardship, and excellence
Comments: Will is a strong academic student, who is consistently willing to give that little extra. Will values his education and challenges himself to have a better understanding in math by asking questions and being involved in Academic Superbowl. Will also strives to set a good example to his classmates and works hard to achieve his goals.

Lauren Ryan
on: Theology Department
Values Displayed: vocation
Comments: Lauren quietly habitually excels without the fanfare and with little recognition.

Matt Leming
Nomination: Staff Member
Values Displayed: vocation, servant leadership, stewardship, and excellence
Comments: Matt is a kind, caring young man that works hard academically to better himself. He is happy to help peers as well as the community (March for Life).

Holden Martin
Nomination: Music Department
Values Displayed: vocation and stewardship
Comments: Holden is a great student, listens and follows directions, and enhances the people around him in a positive way.

Sam Defreese
Nomination: Science Department
Values Displayed: vocation and excellence
Comments: Sam attended the march for life trip showing he keeps the teachings of the Church and the Gospel.


Lea Thompson

Comments: Top of her class; Key Club; Student Ambassador; NHS; Rho Kappa Kappa

Jesus Martinez
Nomination: Art Department

Comments: He has been a consistent person for quality since I met him 4 years ago.


Caleb Baue

Comments: Caleb has excelled in yearbook photography and TV productions.

Nick Mirabelli
Nomination: Social Studies Department

Comments: Nick has been very welcoming to a new student in our World History class. He has gone out of his way to make sure that the student understands our classroom policies and procedures. He has also been working dilligently on his studies this semester. Nick is a great example of Servant Leadership and I am proud to have him in my class.

Josie Defreese
Nomination: Health and P.E. Department
Values Displayed: excellence
Comments: Josie has been excellent in both the PE and Health classes. She works really hard at whatever task that she is doing. She is very competitive and wants to be the best at everything she does. Great attitude.
