Let's Play Ball!
Dave Gandolph '68 Returns to Lead Crusader Baseball
Some baseball coaches would be content to retire after being named to the IHSBCA Hall of Fame and posting over 700 career victories. But Dave Gandolph '68 and his wife, Ann (McAtee) Gandolph '67, saw a very special opportunity for Dave to continue his passion for coaching and the game of baseball at their alma mater.
In November, Dave was officially hired as the new Head Coach of the Scecina Memorial Baseball program. Coach Gandolph not only brings an affinity for Scecina, but an impressive list of achievements and experience to lead the Crusaders to success on the field.

In his words:
"I am very excited to be returning to my "roots" in Catholic education, giving back to my alma mater, assisting the Athletic Director and serving as Head Baseball Coach. It is invigorating to be back in the old neighborhood where I grew up-- my mom still lives practically across the street.
As a long-time high school baseball coach, my philosophy is to be very sound fundamentally on defense, throw strikes from the mound, and put pressure on the opponents defense by bunting and running, and as the saying goes "In life and baseball good things happen when you put the ball in play".
As far as the outlook on the season, I will be working hard to get to know the players, making sure they are well prepared and exhibit great sportsmanship. The only game we want to win is the next one."
Congratulations and Welcome Back, Coach Gandolph!
