Looking back with gratefulness, looking forward to an exciting future

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2018! I hope you had a joyous Christmas filled with family, friends and celebrations of our faith.

As we look ahead to and plan for another year, I also look back proudly and gratefully at what Scecina accomplished in 2017. We enjoyed many blessings and shared inspiring moments through the year:

  • 102 young people from the Class of 2017 graduated in May. These seniors have moved on to outstanding colleges and universities throughout the country.
  • We upgraded and modernized 24 classrooms.
  • Our school’s academics again received an A rating from the Indiana Department of Education.
  • The Archdiocese of Indianapolis approved Scecina’s request to launch its first capital campaign.
  • Dr. Joseph Brettnacher joined us the new principal of Scecina.
  • Tom Griffin was recognized with the Father Tom Award for outstanding service to Scecina.
  • The Crusaders softball team won the 2017 IHSAA Class 2A state championship.
  • The school again operated in the black financially throughout the 2016-2017 year.

These are just some of the milestones we accomplished together with your help and support. While we relish these steps forward, we invite you on our exciting journey to the future of Scecina in 2018 and beyond.

Through the grace of God, I hope the coming year brings you the gifts of wisdom, hope and contentment.

Blessings for 2018!
