Mary, the Mother of God Our Annual New Year's Eve Retreat with Fr. Aaron Jenkins

Event Flyer

The Church venerates Mary as the Mother of God, and as we bring in the new year we will discuss what we can learn from this beautiful and ancient title that our Lord’s mother rightly deserves. The presentations will focus on Mary’s role in salvation history as well as the Church’s basic teachings on Mary, drawing from scripture and tradition. Fr. Aaron will also integrate examples of art found throughout the history of the Church.

We are pleased to welcome Fr. Aaron Jenkins as the presenter for this very popular annual overnight celebration and retreat. Fr. Aaron is a convert to the Catholic faith, joining the church in 2001 and was ordained a priest in 2008. Before becoming a priest his background was in art education. It was through his love for art that he was drawn to the history and tradition of the Church that eventually lead him to the faith.

Fr. Aaron has served as chaplain at Scecina Memorial High School, Associate Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese, associate pastor at Holy Name Parish and as sacramental minister for three Decatur county parishes. He is currently the administrator of St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross in Bright, Indiana.

Jonathan Higgins is a graduate of Scecina Memorial High School and will add to the atmosphere of the retreat with his gift of music. Jonathan is currently studying Liturgical music and has been involved in serving the church with his musical talents almost his entire life. At Scecina he acted as the music director for school Liturgies and played a large role in anything involving music at the high school.

$138 per person/$256 per married couple includes the program and all materials, a festive holiday dinner, a toast and appetizers to ring in the new year, and a beautiful New Year's Day brunch. Adoration and Benediction with the Rosary will be offered as well as the celebration of Liturgy.

And if you register before Thursday, December 20, you will receive a $10 discount off of the registration fee ($128/$246)! Please note: After December 20, contact Cheryl at (317) 545-7681 ext. 15 or at cmcsweeney@archindy.org to check on availability and pricing.
