November Crusaders of the Month

Each month students are acknowledged for displaying one or more of the values of Scecina Memorial High School, vocation, servant leadership, stewardship, and excellence. These students are nominated by teachers and staff as the Crusaders of the Month. The November Crusaders of the Month are:

Luke Traylor
Nomination: Math Department
Values Displayed: Stewardship, Excellence, Vocation, Servant Leadership
Comments: Talent in math, hard worker, has concern for the subject matter and for his fellow students. Luke exudes kindness and has a willingness to answer questions and contribute to the class.

Rowan (Jake) Rebein
Nomination: English Department
Values Displayed: Excellence and Stewardship
Comments: In writing a recent paper, it is apparent that Jake is informed and astute. With that in mind, he has taken criticism and suggestions and looks to improve his writing.

Andrew Smith
Nomination: Math Department
Values Displayed:
 Servant Leadership, Vocation, Stewardship and Excellence
Comments: He is being nominated for excellence in Algebra 2, is a member of Scecina's soccer team and volunteers at Holy Spirit parish.  This past summer he was involved as a festival volunteer and also runs the clock at Holy Spirit's CYO basketball games.  He is an all-around student-athlete that serves his parish in many ways.

Alexis (Lexi) Carr
Theology Department
Values Displayed: 
Lexi is a standout student in her Catholic Theology class. She takes the subject matter seriously and assists other students in the class.


James Hentz
Nomination: Science Department
Values Displayed: Vocation and Stewardship
Comments: James lives as a true Christian would, caring, thoughtful of others.  He is willing to go above and beyond to understand his role as a follower of Christ.

Michaela Lindsay
Nomination: Athletic Department  
Values Displayed: Excellence and Vocation
Comments:  Michaela is an experienced, competitive swimmer who helped lead the Crusaders to an impressive first showing in their opening meet against Park Tudor and Decatur Central.

Michael Rosswurm, Zya Burnett, Cali Burgess
Nomination: Advancement
Values Displayed:
  Servant Leadership
All three volunteered to help greet and seat people for the Fr. Tom Day Mass.  they were warm and welcoming and represented Scecina exceedingly well to our guests.  I was grateful for their help.

Josie Defreese
Nomination: Social Studies Department
Values Displayed: Stewardship and Excellence
Comments: Josie is very inquisitive! She is always asking questions that helps to drive our class towards a deeper knowledge and understanding of our topics. She shows an active interest in what we are discussing and helps make our class better!

Regina Forster
Nomination: Guidance Department
Values Displayed: Stewardship and Servant Leadership
Comments: She gives a helping hand for the front office and guidance off whenever asked. She is more than willing to assist, not only in our office but with her classmates as well.
