Mission Effectiveness Committee Report

• Committee recommends uniform placement of classroom crucifixes.
• As recommended by the committee, school president is seeking ideas from small and large staff groups about ways to tell our story and display our values and mission in the main hallways of the school.
• Committee notes need to ground school values in Catholic teaching and theology. Mission effectiveness work at Marian and Scecina may overlap in some areas and that Marian is willing to assist as requested.

Finance Committee Report

• Overall financial status good.

President’s Report

• Academic achievement: Notes a presentation at a conference earlier in the day stating that academic excellence is not explicitly stated as a gospel value, but that it is consistent with gospel and Catholic values. List of colleges and universities granting acceptance to the Class of 2010 reflects quality of academic, service, and co-curricular activities at SMHS. Kenney adds that college admission standards are higher than ever and that more SMHS students are attending top schools. · Office of Advancement is building an effective and coordinated program for advancement, alumni relations, fundraising, and communications.

• Student Recruitment: Introductory meetings with heads of local schools and community leaders are being held to discuss missions of the organizations and move toward exploring future recruitment opportunities.

• Technology Committee: Funds in technology budget have been re-directed to bring in a consultant on a quarterly basis to evaluate current operation and serve as bridge to the new technology committee.
