Principal Joe Brettnacher, Ph.D.
In August 2017, Joe Brettnacher became the principal of Scecina Memorial High School.
As principal of Scecina, he is the Chief Academic Officer of the school. His responsibilities include academic planning; fostering Catholic identity; hiring and developing a top-class faculty, curriculum development, professional development, discipline, overseeing extracurricular offerings; and fostering a culture based on our Catholic faith and our Mission Statement.
Brettnacher most recently was Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Columbus (Ohio), where he oversaw the operations of 53 Catholic schools. In addition, he has served as principal of two Catholic high schools in Indiana during his career, Central Catholic High School in Lafayette and Marian High School in Mishawaka. Brettnacher has also assisted Indiana schools gain or sustain accreditation status in the State of Indiana through his role on a statewide committee.
