  • Big game, big night for Crusaders and Scecina

     The Class 2A No. 3 Crusaders beat conference and Catholic school rival Cardinal Ritter on the state’s biggest football stage, Lucas Oil Stadium. The Crusaders topped the Class 3A No. 6 Raiders 27-14 on Oct. 6 to capture the Indiana Crossroads Conference championship.

    Thanks to an enthusiastic and supportive Scecina community, the Crusaders’ crowd was the biggest of the night. Event organizers told Jason Kehrer ‘88, Scecina athletic director, that the Crusaders had sold the most tickets of any of the four teams that played (Columbus North and Bloomington South played the second game.) “They said we more than surpassed expectations,” he said.

  • Crusaders softball team captures ICC, City titles

    The Scecina Crusaders softball team captured both the Indiana Crossroads Conference title and the City Championship this past week.

    The Crusaders won the City Championship with a 14-4, five-inning win over the Irish at Cathedral. 

    The Crusaders also went undefeated in the Indiana Crossroads Conference to win the conference title.

  • Scecina gymnasts flip for new program

    Scecina Memorial High School is home to the only gymnastics program within the 17 City Alliance Schools, and one of just two programs among the eight-school Indiana Crossroads Conference. Thanks to Coaches Allison Delaney '10 and Elaine O’Brian, and the support of past coach Anne O’Connor, the Scecina gymnastics program is flourishing in a time when many other schools are ending their programs.

     Gymnastics began at Scecina in the 2014-15 school year with just two gymnasts, Molly Griffin ’18 and Mary O’Connor ’17.
