Nearly 20 Scecina students helped lead the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Junior High Youth Rally Jan. 30 at Roncalli High School. There were 130 junior high teens in attendance from all over the Archdiocese as well as 70 adults. Our students were among high school students from various parish youth ministry programs and Roncalli who gave support throughout the day. More than 100 high school students were involved with the event. Scecina seniors Bo Leszcynski and Gabi Leffler served a special role as emcees for the event.
The high school students served in various ways with everything from setting up and cleaning up to decorations and general help throughout the day. Our Scecina students also helped lead the break-out sessions for the junior high students. They presented on Faith and Sports, Faith and Music, and Faith in Action. During these sessions, they led games, witnessed about their personal experience of faith, and then engaged the younger students in discussion.
“I was so proud of our students who basically spent the day sharing their faith with others!” said Angie Pometto, Scecina’s Echo apprentice in campus ministry.
Other Scecina students who participated are: Aubrie Bishop; Heaven Carmichael; Justice Carmichael; Cassie Cecil; Emma Cummins; Regina Forster; Jacob Hanson; Monica Higgins; Bailey Hope; Caroline Johnston; Tyler Lewis; James McInerny; Lorena Meyer; Hunter Reese; Bo Sims; and Madyson Sparks.
