  • Scecina wins $10,000 theatre grant from NBC

    Scecina Memorial High School is one of 50 schools throughout the country to win a $10,000 R.I.S.E. America Grant for its theatre program. NBC awarded $500,000 in grants to high school theatre programs in concert with the network’s new drama, “Rise,” which premieres on Tuesday, March 13. Scecina is the only school in Indiana to receive a grant. 

    The R.I.S. E. (Recognizing and Inspiring Student Expression) America Grants are designed to assist theatre programs with production expenses, technical equipment, master classes and other needs.

  • Scecina senior flies high with lead role in 'Mary Poppins'

    Lauren Gray starred in the lead role of “Annie” when the musical was performed at Footlite Musicals in Downtown Indianapolis. She was just 11 and a fourth-grade student at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.

    Isabelle Leffler, a Scecina junior from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, thoroughly enjoyed portraying the lead character, Letitia Blacklock, in Scecina's Fall Play, "A Murder is Announced, " a  mystery by Agatha Christie.
