Scecina's summer campers experience the Crusader way

Senior Will Therber helps a young camper during football camp, which was lead by head coach Ott Hurrle, assistants and Crusader football players.

Scecina’s month of summer camps provided plenty of learning and activity for 347 young campers this year.

Jean Donlan, Scecina’s Director of Community Engagement, said the summer camps sessions was one of the busiest ever for the school.

“We served 347 kids at our summer camps, and I think they were busy and attentive every minute,” she said. “We added one-day camps in Guitar Enrichment, Math Games, Baking, and Safe Sitter from the Ransburg YMCA, as well as clinics in advanced cheer stunts and soccer goal keeping. We also had a weeklong band camp with our music teacher and band director, Donnie Glowinski, and theatre camp with teachers Leslie Young and Kathryn Wetzel. And of course we had all of our regular sports camps."

The other camps were boys basketball; co-ed basketball; cheerleading; football; soccer; track and field; co-ed volleyball; and wrestling. Donlan said

Scecina camps were supported by the following sponsors:
