Senior Edzna Sanchez plans to join the U.S. Marine Corps, travel the world and study medicine. She has been a four-year Scecina Scholar Athlete and a high honor roll student.

Senior Edzna Sanchez never leaves home without a picture of her family, her phone for emergencies, and a great attitude. Her upbeat nature has helped her to overcome challenges, such as learning English as a second language and starting school in a new country. She has thrived at Scecina by challenging herself academically. She also has participated in co-curricular activities such as soccer, baking club, key club, and student ambassadors. These experiences have helped Edzna to become a well-rounded, lifelong learner.
“I have become a better person while attending Scecina. I have learned that education is so important," said Edzna. "English has been hard for me, but at Scecina I have found solutions for this challenge. I have learned to never give up.”
Edzna is the daughter of Patricia Martinez and Salvador Sanchez. After graduating from Scecina, Edzna plans to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps. She would like to travel the world and crusade for global equality and civil rights. Edzna also plans to study medicine and become a physician, specializing in gynecology and obstetrics.
