SMHS Soccer Sets Eyes On History

This past Saturday the Scecina Boys Soccer Team won its first Sectional title since 2002 with a win against Lutheran High School. Scecina was able take control of the game by scoring two goals in the first half. The first goal was scored off the head of Russell Baxter and the second was scored by the team’s leading scorer Hector Valasquez. In the second half, Scecina continued to control the possession of play, not giving Lutheran any chance back into the game. The soccer team will now attempt to win its first ever Regional title.

Regional play starts this Thursday at 5pm in Knightstown against Centerville HS. When asked his thoughts on the upcoming match, Head Coach Steve Flanagan '99 said, “I like our team’s chances of winning and moving forward to Semi-State.”

Please come out to the game this Thursday to cheer the Crusaders on!
