You might say that Steve and Katie (Hagan) Wright bleed Red and Gold!

Steve and Katie are proud members of Scecina’s Class of 1962. They raised their five boys on the Eastside, sending them to Little Flower Catholic School and Scecina. And that Crusader pride runs in the family. Their oldest son, Mark ’84, and Shirley (Hines) '83 are the parents of Scecina graduates Heather ’02 and Jessi ’09. Kevin ’85 and wife Megan (White) ’89 have Scecina sophomore Jack, soon-to-be Scecina freshman Liam, and fifth-grader Ella at Holy Spirit. David ’87, Mike ’88, and Matt ’94 complete this proud Crusader family.

Steve has been interested in stained glass for over 20 years, and since retiring from Capital City Ford in 2013 has been able to devote more time to this hobby he enjoys so much. Steve generously has gifted Scecina with a beautiful, hand-crafted stained glass Scecina crest (pictured here).

This special Red and Gold piece will be showcased at our Alumni Golf Classic on June 17 and offered as a raffle item to raise money to support Scecina students. Raffle tickets will be available at the golf outing for $2 per ticket, $5 for three tickets, and $10 for an arm’s length. If you aren’t able to attend, but would like the chance to win Steve’s stained glass crest, please contact Jean Donlan at jdonlan@scecina.org or 352-3282.

We are thankful for Steve and Katie’s nearly 60 year commitment to Scecina. Families like the Wrights are what make the Scecina community so meaningful to so many!
