Senior Ria Rebein is the valedictorian of the Scecina Memorial High School Class of 2016. She's made the most of her time at Scecina, taking a range of classes from Advanced Drawing to
Advanced Business Management. She will attend Indiana University this fall.

Senior Alexandra "Ria" Rebein, the Class of 2016 valedictorian, would describe the benefits of attending Scecina Memorial High School in one word: opportunities. “During my time at Scecina I have had the opportunity to lead through Student Council and Key Club,” Ria says. “I was also able to get involved in many diverse activities like sports, the spring musical, and Rho Kappa. At Scecina I can do everything!”
In her four years Ria has tried just about everything. She has enrolled in a wide range of classes from AP Macroeconomics to Advanced Drawing, Physics to Advanced Business Management. Ria will graduate as the valedictorian of the Class of 2016 with a 4.31 grade point average. She plans to attend Indiana University in the fall.
Ria’s choice of co-curricular activities is equally eclectic. She has excelled in athletics, represented the Crusaders as a student ambassador, sang and danced in the spring musical, and participated in service projects through Student Council and Key Club.
Ria is the daughter of Alyssa Chase and Robert Rebein. Her mother has a bachelor’s degree in English from Kansas University and a master’s degree in poetry from Butler University. She works as a freelance writer. Robert Rebein chairs the English Department at IUPUI. He graduated from Kansas University and holds a Ph.D. in English from Washington University. Ria’s brother, Jake, is a freshman at Scecina.
