Student Spotlight: Chris Duncan '17

Junior Chris Duncan, who attended Little Flower, is a black belt in taekwondo and plays percussion for Scecina's Pep Band.

Each week the Scecina Student Spotlight introduces the Crusader Community to a current Scecina student who has been a recipient of the President's Academic Excellence Award.

Chris Duncan, a junior from Little Flower Parish, has earned the distinction of being named to the High Honor Roll every semester that he has been at Scecina. He is also a two-time President’s Academic Excellence Award winner. Although he excels in all of his classes, Chris particularly enjoys English and social studies.

When he isn’t studying at the park, his favorite place, Chris dedicates his time and energy to taekwondo. He has earned a black belt and is a reigning TKO champion. He also enjoys music and plays percussion for the Scecina Pep Band.

Chris says, “My biggest challenge has been adjusting to the jump in work ethic from middle school to high school, and each year after that.”

But he is prepared to face the rigors of higher education head on in order to earn an advanced degree, in an undecided field, from an Indiana college.
