Dear Scecina Community,
In the midst of darkness, daylight is finally becoming longer, minutes at a time every day. Our students had a great moment of sunshine Thursday as they completed their last final exam of the first semester at 10:40 a.m. Christmas vacation has begun!
As healthy and enjoyable as sunlight is, Jesus is the ultimate light in the world. His divine light is the source of faith and virtues at Scecina—in our students, our staff, our parents, and our alumni and friends. May this light and our eyes of faith lead us to exude Jesus in all things as Saint Teresa of Avila prayed:
“Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”
We have received the greatest gift of all. Now that we have received it, may we present it every day to everyone we encounter. From all of us here at Scecina, Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you and yours!
