Scecina Parish Day 2025: 270 Students Build Parish Connections
Helping students build deeper connections with their faith and parish homes was the focus of Scecina Parish Day 2025 at Scecina Memorial High School, where more than 270 students gathered on Wednesday, Aug. 27, for a day of conversation, reflection, and invitation.
The initiative, led by Director of Campus Ministry Ben Potts, featured sessions with Father Jeffrey Dufresne of St. Philip Neri, Father Michael O’Mara of Holy Spirit, and Father Jude Meril Sahayam of Little Flower and Our Lady of Lourdes, along with parish staff members.
Donuts and conversations became a highlight of the day, offering students a relaxed setting to spend meaningful time with their pastors. These one-on-one moments provided students with the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and foster stronger connections with their pastors.
Parish Day reflects Scecina Memorial High School’s commitment to student faith formation, helping young people grow spiritually and remain rooted in their parish communities. Through these sessions, students had the opportunity to:
-
Meet their pastors and parish leaders in a personal setting
-
Hear the Good News and discuss its impact on their lives
-
Build deeper parish connections
-
Receive invitations to engage more fully in parish life
This day served as a living example of faith in action, bringing students, parish leaders, and campus ministry together to inspire, encourage, and strengthen Catholic identity.
