Scecina’s Student Council empowers students to grow as leaders, build school spirit, and represent their classmates. Council members help plan major school events, serve the community, and foster a welcoming and engaged student body.
Key Roles
- Student Body Officers: President, Vice President, and Interdepartmental Collaboration Officer (ICO) coordinate across all grade levels and communicate directly with administration.
- Class Officers: Each grade has a team responsible for planning events and initiatives specific to their class.
Major Events Student Council Events
- Homecoming: Includes spirit days, pep rally, stairwell decorating contest, and the Homecoming Dance.
- Winter Formal: A December dance organized by the sophomore class.
- Red and Gold Week: A winter spirit week celebrating basketball with themed dress days, court ceremony, and student events.
- Campus Crusade: End-of-year celebration with games, water activities, and a walk-a-thon.
- Tender Loving Christmas (TLC): Classes shop for Christmas gifts for families in need.
- Canned Food Drive: Schoolwide effort to support a local food pantry.
- Teacher Appreciation Week: Each class plans a day to celebrate faculty and staff.
Crusader Cup
A yearlong class competition where students earn points through school involvement, event attendance, spirit participation, and academic integrity. The winning class earns a year-end celebration.
Selection Process
Applications open each spring, followed by interviews in May. Freshman council members are selected in the fall.
