At Scecina, students grow through a challenging academic curriculum rooted in Catholic values. Our faculty partners with families to deliver personalized, mission-driven education that prepares students for success in college, careers, and life.
We offer a broad and rigorous academic program that supports diverse learners and aligns with the Indiana Core 40 diploma. Students may pursue a college-preparatory path, explore Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, or create a blend of both.
Graduation Requirements
Scecina follows the Indiana Core 40 diploma as the standard graduation requirement. Students may also pursue:
- Academic Honors Diploma
- Technical Honors Diploma
These pathways allow students to tailor their high school experience based on academic strengths and post-secondary goals.
Core 40 diploma requirements include:
- 8 credits in English/Language Arts
- 6 credits in Mathematics (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II)
- 6 credits in Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and an additional lab science)
- 6 credits in Social Studies (U.S. History, Government, Economics, World History)
- 2 credits in Physical Education
- 1 credit in Health and Wellness
- 5 credits in a College and Career Pathway
- Additional electives to reach a total of 40 credits

Career and Technical Education (CTE) and the Technical Honors Diploma
Students enrolled in CTE programs may be eligible to earn the Core 40 with Technical Honors Diploma. To qualify, students must:
- Complete a College and Career Pathway with:
- 6 credits in a state-approved CTE sequence
- One of the following:
- A state-recognized certification or credential
- Six college credits earned through dual-credit coursework in the pathway
- Earn a grade of C or higher in all diploma-related courses
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0

These programs combine academic coursework with hands-on experiences and industry-aligned skills.
Advanced Placement and Dual Credit Opportunities
Scecina offers a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual Credit courses that challenge students with college-level academics and the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school.
