Senior wins prestigious IHSAA award
Senior Carter Hartman was named the recipient of the C. Eugene Cato Mental Attitude Award for Class A soccer after the championship game on October 31.
The award is presented annually to a senior, nominated by his principal and coach, who has demonstrated excellence in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability during his four years in high school. The award comes with a $1,000 award for the school.
Besides playing soccer, Carter also is in the Mass choir, appears on stage in Scecina musicals, and takes part in the Indiana State School Music Association vocal competition. He plays on the men’s volleyball team, and is in the Chess, archery, Student Council, National Honor Society, and liturgy clubs. He also has participated in track and the Academic Superbowl Team.
